Softball Recap: Bartlett Wins High-Profile Matchup Against West Anchorage

Bartlett faced West Anchorage in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Golden Bears put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-2 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Golden Bears needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Desirae Leniu was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last three games. The team also got some help courtesy of Danae Mira-Westbrook, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Bartlett kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Bartlett's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-15. As for West Anchorage, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

As of now, neither Bartlett nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
