Baseball Recap: Beallsville Blue Devils vs. Belpre Golden Eagles
Beallsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 12-2 to the Belpre Golden Eagles.
Garrett Perkins was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and 11 unearned) runs off seven hits. Perkins has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Perkins was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with a home run and two RBI.
Beallsville's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Belpre, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beallsville will face off against Jefferson County Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Belpre, they will head out on the road to square off against Morgan at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
