Baseball Recap: Monday's Win Is Rock Port's 14th in Last 15 Outings

Rock Port barely beat North Platte the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blue Jays blew past the Panthers 10-3 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Blue Jays, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Corbyn Jakub made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Tayden Cook was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Logan Ellis was another key player, earning one RBI and two runs.

Rock Port is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for North Platte, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-12.

Coming up, Rock Port will head out to take on Plattsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Platte, they will welcome South Holt at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
