Basketball Game Preview: Crescenta Valley Falcons vs. Calabasas Coyotes

The Crescenta Valley Falcons will take on the Calabasas Coyotes in a tournament on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Crescenta Valley is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since December 29, 2023 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 63-61 win over Los Angeles CES. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Meanwhile, Calabasas had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They came out on top against the Parrots by a score of 67-56.

Crescenta Valley is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Calabasas, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.

Things could have been worse for Crescenta Valley, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took an 89-72 loss to Calabasas when the teams last played back in December of 2017. Can Crescenta Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
