Basketball Recap: Charlotte Christian Knights vs. Cannon Cougars
Charlotte Christian lost against Cannon back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Charlotte Christian Knights were outmatched by the Cannon Cougars and fell 95-19. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 480th, while the Cougars are ranked fifth).
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sierra Myers, who posted six points. Kadence Davis also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.
Cannon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Khloe Thompson led the charge by going 7 for 13 en route to 18 points and six steals. That's the most points Thompson has posted since back in February of 2024. Jakaila Gaskin was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
