Isabel Hernandez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on two hits and racked up 18 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Lilliana Mudge made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, San Manuel made easy work of Baboquivari on Tuesday and carried off a 26-11 victory. The Miners haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Cienna Maghinay was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Andrea Nabor was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI.
San Manuel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .698. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .537 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
San Manuel's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Maryvale, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Maryvale has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like San Manuel struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
