Softball Recap: Irvington Vikings vs. Washington Huskies

Irvington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 12-1 to the Washington Huskies. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Irvington of the 12-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April.

Irvington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ixayana Vera, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

On Washington's side, Olivia Machuca made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Machuca was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with an RBI.

The timing is sure in Mission San Jose's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Washington has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
