Baseball Recap: Gilbert Comes Up Short on the Road Against Nonnewaug

Gilbert had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Nonnewaug Chiefs, falling 14-2. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 16 in a row.

Gilbert will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Shepaug Valley at 3:45 p.m. on the 21st. As for Nonnewaug, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-1 win against Pomperaug on the 10th.
