            Softball Recap: Bunn Wildcats vs. Northern Nash Knights        
        
		
        
        
            While Bunn didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Northern Nash Knights on Thursday as the Bunn Wildcats made off with  a  21-1 win. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive  victory against them.
 MaKayla McDonald looked comfortable as she  tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. What's more,  she gave up only one  walk, the fewest she's  had since back in April of 2024.

 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Peyton Alford, who  fired off three  home runs, six  RBI,  and four  runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave  her a new career-high in  RBI.  Brooke Harrah was another key player,  scoring three  runs while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances.
 Bunn was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northern Nash only posted a  batting average of  .250.
Bunn pushed their record up to 4-0 with the  win, which was their third straight  on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Northern Nash, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
 Looking ahead, Bunn will head out to  square off against Franklinton  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Franklinton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10  runs per game  this season. As for Northern Nash, they will be playing at home against Fike  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. Northern Nash is facing Fike at the right time seeing as Fike is stuck on  a  three-game losing streak.
