Baseball Recap: Riverside Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Riverside dropped their record down to 14-8-1 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 11-1 to the Del Valle Conquistadores. The Rangers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Conquistadores earlier this season, when they won 4-0.

As for Del Valle, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.

For Del Valle's part, ISAAC PADILLA was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. PADILLA has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on ISAIAH GONZALEZ, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. EDGAR VASQUEZ was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Looking ahead, Riverside will head out on the road to face off against Ysleta at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
