Basketball Recap: Barker Takes a Loss

Barker was the 76-58 winner over Newfane when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Barker Bulldogs lost 60-37 to the Newfane Panthers on Friday. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Mac Capen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Newfane, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Capen has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Camlo Flowers, who went 6 of 11 en route to 15 points.

Barker dropped their record down to 3-8 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Newfane, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 4-8.

When Barker and Newfane next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Barker will try to stop Albion's three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Newfane will challenge Wilson and their four-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
