They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 9-2 walloping at the hands of the Valley Vista Monsoon. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Mesa of the 7-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.
Luke Hilton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
On Valley Vista's side, Elijah White spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits. White has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances.
At the plate, Rylie Hanson was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with a home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Elias Garza, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
