Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Madelyn Gonzalez and Neenah Harripersaud Lead Atlantic Christian to Victory

Atlantic Christian posted their closest victory since September 24, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past the Leonard Lancers 3-2.

Atlantic Christian wouldn't go down easily and took Leonard into a fifth set where they got it done with a ten-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-18, 26-28, 19-25, 15-5.

Leading Atlantic Christian to victory were Neenah Harripersaud and Madelyn Gonzalez. Harripersaud had 45 assists and seven digs, while Gonzalez had nine digs and five aces. Those 45 assists gave Harripersaud a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayla Rollins, who had 12 digs.

They weren't the only good server: Atlantic Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. They served two more aces than Leonard's also-impressive total of ten.

Atlantic Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Leonard, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atlantic Christian will square off against Pine at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, Leonard and Palm Beach Gardens will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lancers are facing the Gators at the right time seeing as the Gators are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
