Recap: Harrison Central Red Rebels vs. Ridgeland Titans

After a string of four wins, the Harrison Central Red Rebels's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell to Ridgeland 56-51.

Harrison Central's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden Eckford, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaun Murray, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.

Ridgeland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Phil Nelson, who scored 18 points along with five assists and three steals. Nelson hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Ebo Wilson, who scored nine points along with 17 rebounds and five blocks.

Harrison Central's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Ridgeland, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harrison Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face D'Iberville at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. D'Iberville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Harrison Central is ranked 31st). As for Ridgeland, they will head out on the road to face off against Warren Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
