Volleyball Recap: Homer Wins Going Away Against Houston + How To Watch

Homer barely beat Houston the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mariners put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 3-0 win on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Mariners in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won six in a row.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-20, 25-12.

Homer found their leader in sophomore Piper Fuchs, who had 18 digs and three assists. Fuchs has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.

Homer was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive contests.

Homer's win bumped their record up to 27-15-3. As for Houston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-26 record this season.

Homer will square off against Mountain City Christian Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Houston, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Bethel on the 1st.
