Softball Recap: Baker County Wildcats vs. Fort Walton Beach Vikings

With a playoff win on the line, Baker County rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Fort Walton Beach Vikings. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Baker County got a great performance from Grace Masterson as she pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.

At the plate, Mallory Jackson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Baleigh Shields, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Baker County's victory bumped their record up to 24-2. As for Fort Walton Beach, with the defeat, they broke their 11-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-13.

As of now, neither Baker County nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
