Preview: El Primero Lobos vs. East Palo Alto Academy Bulldogs

El Primero and East Palo Alto Academy are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the El Primero Lobos will get right back to it and host the East Palo Alto Academy Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

You can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely El Primero's strategy against Mid-Peninsula on Wednesday. El Primero enjoyed a cozy 60-45 victory over Mid-Peninsula.

El Primero's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but JOSH CHAVEZ led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. CHAVEZ is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 18 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of KEVIN CHIQUETE, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

East Palo Alto Academy was handed a 40-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Mountain View Academy on Tuesday. East Palo Alto Academy narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Mountain View Academy 50-48. The win was just what East Palo Alto Academy needed coming off of a 85-45 loss in their prior game.

El Primero's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-17. As for East Palo Alto Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.

El Primero strolled past East Palo Alto Academy in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 59-45. Does El Primero have another victory up their sleeve, or will East Palo Alto Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
