Basketball Game Preview: Ida Baker Bulldogs vs. East Lee County Jaguars

The Ida Baker Bulldogs will take on the East Lee County Jaguars on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

On Friday, Ida Baker came up short against Evangelical Christian and fell 60-52.

Meanwhile, East Lee County also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Immokalee by a score of 66-58.

Ida Baker will need focus on slowing down Gage Chin, one of several East Lee County players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 12 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Joel Trujillo, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 12 points and six boards.

Even though they lost, East Lee County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive matchups.

Ida Baker's defeat dropped their record down to 6-18. As for East Lee County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.

Ida Baker didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against East Lee County in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 55-50 victory.
