Basketball Recap: Ridge Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Ridge Christian Academy lost against Northwood Academy on Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Paladins lost 74-49 to the Chargers.

Despite the loss, Ridge Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Benjamin Shamblin posted 21 points and eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shamblin has scored all season. JW Fowler was another key player, putting up 11 points and five boards.

Eli Cosman was his usual excellent self, going 11-for-17 to rack up 24 points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals for Northwood Academy. That's the most steals Cosman has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Wolfe, who put up 12 points and four steals.

Ridge Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Northwood Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season.

Ridge Christian Academy will face off against Northside Christian School at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Northwood Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-53 loss against Stratford on the 2nd.
