Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Forest). They were the clear victor by  a  16-5 margin over the DeLand Bulldogs on Thursday. The  win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.
Forest got a great performance from  Makenna Boyd as she  pitched five innings while giving up just one earned  (and four unearned) runs off   four  hits.
 At the plate,  Mahri Lingle was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing  Two bases. while going 3-for-3. She has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last four times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jaiden Prestipino, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Forest  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 15  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least 12  hits in four consecutive  contests.
Forest now  has a winning record of 4-3. As for DeLand, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Forest will head out to  challenge Gainesville  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for DeLand, they will venture away from home to  take on New Smyrna Beach  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. DeLand is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2  runs per game  this season.
