Volleyball Recap: Gilroy Comes Up Short

Gilroy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Willow Glen Rams. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rams from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-20, 25-27, 25-14.

Alexander Rodriguez paced Gilroy's offense, picking up ten kills. Rodriguez got some help from Jace Rosso and his 27 assists. Rodriguez was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Gilroy's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Willow Glen, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.

Gilroy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Lincoln on the 27th. As for Willow Glen, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Overfelt on the 27th.
