Preview: Lewistown Indians vs. Princeville Princes

The Lewistown Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Princeville Princes at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Lewistown scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They strolled past Rushville-Industry with points to spare, taking the game 71-52.

Lewistown got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Landry Smith out in front who scored 16 points along with eight steals and six assists. Those eight steals set a new season-high mark for Smith. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Wiegand, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Princeville came tearing into Monday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by Galva at home to the tune of 56-18. The result was nothing new for Princeville, who have now won five games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Lewistown's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Princeville, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Lewistown took their win against Princeville in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 60-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lewistown since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
