Basketball Recap: Sunrise Christian Academy Now 11-1 over Last 12 Games

It's playoff time, and Sunrise Christian Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They strolled past the Mingo Valley Christian Eagles with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 63-45. Given the Buffaloes' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 18th in Kansas, while the Eagles are ranked 195th in Oklahoma), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sunrise Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marko Pavlovic, who posted eight points and six boards. Pavlovic is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tomohito Kobari, who earned seven points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Sunrise Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mingo Valley Christian only eight offensive boards.

Mingo Valley Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Harrison Chatham, who scored nine points and five assists. What's more, Chatham also posted a 75% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January. Matthew Clary was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Sunrise Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season. Mingo Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 15-14.

Sunrise Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 81-27 victory against Crossover Prep on the 22nd. Mingo Valley Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
