Volleyball Recap: Mountain View Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Ridgevue on Tuesday, Mountain View came back down to earth. The Mavericks took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Owyhee Storm on Thursday. If the Mavericks were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Storm when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mountain View started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-17, 25-9, 25-18.

Bree Cardon paced Mountain View's offense, picking up nine kills. Cardon got some help from Alyssa Nelson and her 17 assists. Sophie Crawford controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Owyhee found their leader in sophomore Bella Hordemann, who had 24 digs and two assists. Hordemann is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 16-14-2. As for Owyhee, they moved to 15-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mountain View will challenge rival Rocky Mountain at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Owyhee is set to take on their familiar foe Timberline at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
