Basketball Recap: Elma Takes a Loss

Elma lost against Tenino two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Elma Eagles lost to the Tenino Beavers on the road by a 61-45 margin.

When it comes to explaining why Elma lost, don't look at Isaac McGaffey. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. Those 24 points gave McGaffey a new career-high. Matthew Wood was another key player, putting up four points.

Elma's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Tenino, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-11.

Elma will take on Seattle Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Elma is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.1 points per game this season. As for Tenino, they will square off against Hoquiam at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Tenino is facing Hoquiam at the right time seeing as Hoquiam is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
