Basketball Game Preview: Rogers Royals vs. Champlin Park Rebels

Rogers and Champlin Park are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Rogers Royals will face off against the Champlin Park Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Rogers' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 14 contests.

Rogers is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since March 21, 2024 on Friday. They lost 91-69 to Monticello. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (61), the Royals still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Champlin Park came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Stars by a score of 81-71. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Stars are ranked 140th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Champlin Park has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Rogers, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

Rogers couldn't quite finish off Champlin Park in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 and fell 75-72. Can Rogers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
