Basketball Recap: Crown Point Takes a Loss

Crown Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 42-33 to the Seton Catholic Central Knights. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Seton Catholic Central was led to victory by Dayline Willette and Chloe Lawliss. Willette dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards, while Lawliss posted eight points along with ten boards and five assists. Willette is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Cristina Conti was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Crown Point's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Seton Catholic Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Crown Point will look to defend their home court on Friday against Bolton Central at 6:30 p.m. Bolton Central's defense has only allowed 27.4 points per game this season, so Crown Point's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Seton Catholic Central, they will head out to face off against Boquet Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Seton Catholic Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
