Basketball Recap: Elysian Fields Comes Up Short

Elysian Fields was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 72-42 defeat at the hands of the Timpson Bears. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-47 back in January.

Despite the loss, Elysian Fields still got an impressive performance from Brandon Kennedy, who posted 24 points. That was a full 57.1% of Elysian Fields' points, marking the fourth time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. Colby Stephens was another key player, putting up seven points.

Elysian Fields' record is now 12-16. As for Timpson, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-12.

Elysian Fields will challenge Tenaha at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Timpson, they will face off against Beckville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
