Baseball Recap: Whitmire Takes a Loss

If Whitmire was feeling good fresh off their 26-1 takedown of Calhoun Falls Charter on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolverines lost 12-2 to the Landrum Cardinals on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, with their most recent defeat being a 11-0 loss last Monday.

Whitmire saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Xzye Stephens, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Whitmire has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Landrum, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-6.

Looking ahead, Whitmire will challenge American Leadership Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Landrum, they will take on Greenville Tech Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
