Recap: Northgate Broncos vs. Alhambra Bulldogs
The Northgate Broncos fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 28-17 win over Alhambra on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Northgate, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Northgate had a senior duo take command as Ben Hosler rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries and Jake Berger gained 138 total yards and two touchdowns. Hosler really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run.
When it comes to explaining why Alhambra lost, one person who can't be blamed is Beau Blau. Despite the final result, he rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown.
Northgate's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Alhambra, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
Northgate will look to defend their home field on Friday against Benicia at 7:00 p.m. As for Alhambra, they will head out on the road to face off against College Park at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. College Park is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
