Basketball Game Preview: Portsmouth Christian Patriots vs. StoneBridge Cavaliers

Portsmouth Christian and StoneBridge are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. Both will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Portsmouth Christian is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Norfolk Academy just ended the team's 11-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a hard 63-48 fall against the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, StoneBridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-60 heartbreaker at the hands of Grove Christian School. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cavaliers have suffered since February 22, 2024.

StoneBridge's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Portsmouth Christian, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5.
