Softball Recap: Fairland Dragons vs. Wayne Pioneers
Fairland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 14-7 to the Wayne Pioneers.
Ally Shepherd made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Katie Dehart, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one double.
Fairland's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Wayne, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairland will welcome Chesapeake at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wayne, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chapmanville Regional at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
