Recap: Philo Electrics vs. John Glenn Little Muskies

The Philo Electrics's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 83-64 to John Glenn. While losing is never fun, Philo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 638th, while John Glenn is ranked 239th).

Several Electrics players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rusty Trout, who scored 20 points. Drew Wright was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Stehl Bates was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with seven assists and five rebounds for John Glenn. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bates has scored all season. Another player making a difference was CJ Dolan, who scored 17 points along with two steals.

Philo has not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for John Glenn, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Philo will take on Maysville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for John Glenn, they will head out on the road to challenge River View at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. River View is coming into the matchup with four straight defeats at home, meaning John Glenn will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
