Basketball Game Preview: Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils vs. Gardendale Rockets + How To Watch

Having just played yesterday, the Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils will get right back to it and host the Gardendale Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

If Mortimer Jordan beats Gardendale with 54 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Blue Devils skirted past Arab 54-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Devils have posted since January 23rd.

Meanwhile, Gardendale won against Susan Moore last Tuesday with 71 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Rockets came out on top in a nail-biter against Guntersville, sneaking past 71-68. While the Rockets didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Mortimer Jordan is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points over those games. As for Gardendale, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
