Baseball Recap: Lawrence Tigers vs. Bangor Vikings

Lawrence extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-16 in the process. They lost 15-0 to the Bangor Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-1 on Monday.

As for Bangor, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-11. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.

For Bangor's part, Jaret McCoy was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). McCoy has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs. Bangor is 9-1 when McCoy posts two or more runs, but 3-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, Bangor got a massive performance out of Julian Pullins, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Pullins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Remington, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
