Volleyball Recap: Alameda Comes Up Short

Alameda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They came up short against the Arrupe Jesuit Generals, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Generals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Tuesday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-11, 25-19.

Jimena Casta?o Velasquez paced Alameda's offense, picking up five kills. Casta?o Velasquez got some help from Camila Ortiz and her seven assists. Lilian Nielsen controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Alameda's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Arrupe Jesuit, they pushed their record up to 11-8 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Alameda has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Kennedy on the 20th. As for Arrupe Jesuit, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Arvada on the 18th.
