Baseball Recap: Vale Comes Up Short

If Vale was feeling good fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Ontario last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Vale lost 16-1 to the Fruitland Grizzlies on Saturday.

Vale saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cal Johnson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Vale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Fruitland, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

While Vale had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
