Basketball Game Preview: Allen Mustangs vs. Stroud Tigers

After both having extra time off, the Allen Mustangs and the Stroud Tigers will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. Allen knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Stroud likes a good challenge.

Two weeks ago, everything came up roses for Allen against Wynnewood as the team secured a 74-44 win. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Savages are ranked 284th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 72-29, which was the final score in Stroud's tilt against McLoud last Friday. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Allen's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.4 points. As for Stroud, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
