Marshfield took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against Merrill, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Bluejays 4-3 on Friday. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 11-2 win the Bluejays walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Marshfield's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7. As for Merrill, they moved to 7-7 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Marshfield wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-7 defeat against Eau Claire North on the 3rd. As for Merrill, they will square off against Mosinee at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bluejays' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
