Softball Recap: Moapa Valley Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Moapa Valley and Virgin Valley squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Moapa Valley had to settle for second. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 11-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Pirates haven't been shut out since back in March.

Moapa Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Evans, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Moapa Valley has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-7 record this season. As for Virgin Valley, their win bumped their record up to 23-9.

Moapa Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Virgin Valley, they will face off against Pahrump Valley at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 11.6 runs per game this season.
