Baseball Game Preview: Huffman Vikings vs. Woodlawn Colonels

Huffman is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Woodlawn a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Huffman Vikings will look to defend their home field against the Woodlawn Colonels at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Tuesday, Huffman came up short against Indian Springs and fell 8-4.

Braylen Malone was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. Dylan Craig was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Woodlawn fell victim to Indian Springs and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 11-0 to the Student.

Huffman now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Woodlawn, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Huffman has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Woodlawn struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Huffman skirted past Woodlawn 1-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Does Huffman have another victory up their sleeve, or will Woodlawn turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
