Basketball Recap: Martinsburg Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Martinsburg Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Frederick Baptist Academy Patriots, falling 51-31. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-46 back in December of 2024.

Frederick Baptist Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elijah Good, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds. Good is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was James Downs, who posted 20 points and four steals.

Martinsburg Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Frederick Baptist Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Martinsburg Christian Academy will challenge Lighthouse Baptist Academy at 4:30 p.m. on January 21st. As for Frederick Baptist Academy, they will welcome Varsity Opponent at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
