Baseball Recap: East Moline United Takes a Loss

The East Moline United Panthers didn't have quite enough to beat the Sycamore Spartans on Monday and fell 4-3.

Landon Skiles made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Carter Ramsey was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

East Moline United's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-12. As for Sycamore, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 18-15.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. East Moline United will square off against Plainfield Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Sycamore, they will face off against Dixon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans are facing the Dukes & Duchesses at the right time seeing as the Dukes & Duchesses are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
