Soccer Game Preview: Mullen vs. Lutheran

The Mullen Mustangs are taking a road trip to face off against the Lutheran Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Mullen is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Cherokee Trail, who was ranked 14th at the time (Mullen was ranked sixth). The Mustangs and the Cougars finished up their matchup with a 0-0 draw on Tuesday. The result kept Mullen happy, as they haven't lost a game since September 19th.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lutheran, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against Palmer Ridge by a score of 4-2 on Friday. Lutheran haven't had any issues with Palmer Ridge recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Lutheran hit Palmer Ridge with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Mason Massarotti (2), Gavin Rice, and Isaac Van Deman.

With that draw, Mullen's record moves to 11-1-1. As for Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 8-4-1.

Everything went Mullen's way against Lutheran in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Mullen made off with a 4-0 victory. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
