Basketball Recap: Jemison Takes a Loss

Jemison has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were dealt a 51-23 loss at the hands of the Selma Saints on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Saints are ranked 68th).

It was another big night for Jykierra Oliver, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine steals for Selma. Rod?Neisha Parker was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Jemison's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Selma, their record now sits at 16-2.

While Jemison had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
