The Archbishop Molloy Stanners will head out to challenge the Xaverian Clippers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Archbishop Molloy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

While Archbishop Molloy's win against Kellenberg Memorial wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Stanners had just enough and edged out the Firebirds 9-7.

Meanwhile, Xaverian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 14-6 to St. John the Baptist. That's two games in a row now that the Clippers have lost by exactly eight runs.

Xaverian got a good showing from Aidan Cinardi, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Cinardi hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March.

At the plate, Lucas Zafra made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Danny Cronin, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Archbishop Molloy is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Xaverian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

Xaverian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Archbishop Molloy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. It's a different story for Xaverian, though, as they've only averaged .251. Will they be able to contain Archbishop Molloy's hitters?

Archbishop Molloy took their win against Xaverian in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 8-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Stanners since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
