The Bellevue West Thunderbirds will challenge the Omaha North Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Omaha North will be up against a hot Bellevue West squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Thunderbirds claimed a resounding 44-7 victory over Lincoln Southwest. The Thunderbirds' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bellevue West to victory, but perhaps none more so than Will Anderson, who threw for 282 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt. Anderson's passing game has become a key predictor of the Thunderbirds' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise. Another back making a difference was Demarkus Robinson, who rushed for 112 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.
Meanwhile, Omaha North got themselves on the board against South Sioux City on Friday, but South Sioux City never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cardinals 56-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Vikings' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Cardinals are ranked 121st).
Bellevue West better keep an eye on Jaron Cannon. He was instrumental in Omaha North's win, rushing for 68 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Omaha North, racking up 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Kordai Richard, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Omaha North's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. They received some extra help from Marcus Riley, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Omaha North's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Bellevue West, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Bellevue West ended up a good deal behind Omaha North when the teams last played back in October of 2024, losing 32-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Cannon, who rushed for 143 yards and one TD, and also picked up 40 receiving yards and one touchdown.
