Basketball Recap: Union City Starts off Right with Win over Union

Union City took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 48-25 margin over the Union Rockets. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Union City was led to victory by Campbell Kerns and Ava Reichard. Kerns shot 88% from the field on her way to 17 points, while Reichard almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. Those nine points gave Reichard a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lindsey Evans, who posted seven points.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Union City is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Southern Wells at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Union, they will head out to take on Phalen Leadership Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
