Baseball Recap: Abingdon/Avon Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Abingdon/Avon and Knoxville meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Tornadoes lost 7-1 to the Blue Bullets. The Tornadoes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Bullets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Abingdon/Avon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Timmons, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Abingdon/Avon now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Knoxville, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-15.

While Abingdon/Avon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
