Softball Recap: Concordia Fighting Orioles vs. Northwest Mustangs
Concordia barely beat Northwest the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Concordia put the hurt on Northwest with a sharp 14-1 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Fighting Orioles, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.
Olivia Hemme made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Ava Mueller and Addition Roepe did most of the damage at the plate: Mueller went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI, while Roepe went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
